2016 event: The end of Chavismo?

The editors of Latitudes would like to invite academics and general public to the following event organised by the
Australian-Venezuelan Solidarity Network.

On December 6, Venezuela's right-wing opposition won control of the national parliament and dealt the Bolivarian revolution its first major electoral defeat since Hugo Chavez was elected in 1998. What does the election result mean for Venezuela and the rest of Latin America?

Invited speakers include:
- Luis Fernando Angosto-Ferrández: Author of recently released "Venezuela reframed Bolivarianism, indigenous peoples and socialisms of the twenty-first century”.
- Federico Fuentes: Co-author of "Latin America's Turbulent Transitions: The future of twenty-first century socialism”.
- Roberto Jorquera: Australia Venezuela Solidarity Network.
- Nelson Davila: Venezuelan ambassador.
